This is a SIX-WEEK SERIES, Wednesdays 6-7:30PM PST, February 2 thru March 10. The practice of iRest meditation offers a comforting reminder, based in both ancient wisdom and validated by modern neuroscience, of our innate ability to harness observation, breath, and mindfulness to build an Inner Resource, or indestructible ground of well-being from which to meet and skillfully navigate our lives no matter the circumstances, including the journey of cancer.

Through a guided process of mindful, compassionate, self-inquiry you begin to experience that the human body, your body, holds precious information that’s yours for the asking. It is here, where iRest meditation becomes a powerful ally in healing. As a proven body-mind practice it gently guides us to first look within. Data were collected pre- and post-retreat and then 6 weeks later. After the retreat, participants were asked to complete 20 minutes of home practice per day for 6 weeks this consisted of either guided meditations (iRest) or music (vacation). This in turn can impact the body’s immune response at the very time you need it to be robust. Participants were randomly assigned to a 2-day retreat of either iRest meditation training or vacation.
